It is with deep regret that the State of Malacca has found it fit to confer the award of Darjah Mulia Seri Melaka which carries with it the title of "Datuk" to someone who doesn't even know the exact location of this State in the map of Peninsular Malaysia. It is just so unimportant and insignificant to Shah Rukh Khan that he didn't even bother to attend the acceptance ceremony last Saturday.
When I first heard this ludicrous news last Thursday, I seriously thought it was a joke. Then I later realize that this tragic news was true. I felt so angry and disappointed. How could this have happened?
I know of so many more deserving Malaccans who have sacrificed so much of their lives for the State & they have not been given any award at all, let alone one which carries the title Datuk. I personally interact with some respectable people who have spent more than 20 years of their lives in the civil service or working in the State agencies, who had contributed so much in enhancing Malacca both socially & economically, and none of these people have been recognized for their tireless efforts. It's a real shame.
It is also unfair to the real-deserving people who have been conferred the award on merit as the title now seems so meaningless. As a Malaccan, I just feel so sad with the situation.

Slm...me here feel something is truly wrong fr the beginning, needless to say tht the Head of the state shd be of the Malaccan people! Dont think that we could say much... pls Malaccan people-learn history, understand the history and know what best for your state!!! 'Bukan senang Hang Tuah, Hang Jebat nak protect Kesultanan Melayu Melaka tau'. I memang suka watch Hindies Movies tp tak perasan pula that SRK promoted Malacca a lot that to the extend he shd be awarded and honored as such :( Cik Adillah!!! Melaka! Melaka! Melaka!

I agree with u Su. Orang Melaka should be our TYT. Did u know that we have never had a Malaccan as TYT? Macam tak ada orang yang layak pulak from Melaka.. Rasa sedih betul...

Tati, I was with a high ranking government officer tadi this morning. She said memang Melaka diketawakan oleh seluruh pelusuk Malaysia. Sekarang ni apparently our dear *h**f *in**t*r tengah frantically find sources macamana boleh bawak itu Datuk SRK datang Melaka untuk terima itu pingat! SRK lebih kurang Bo Layan jugak la.. Sedih betul I dengar.
Kesian kita orang Melaka kan..
Even though I'm not old enough to be talking about politics (Hey, I'm only 17!), but him receiving the title Datuk is something that made me laugh really hard. All day long. Stupid, ain't it? I don't think he even know where Malacca is. Exactly as you said. It's as if there's no one else who deserves the title. What has he contribute to Malaysia that made him worth to be given Datuk? This is truly disappointing. Enough said.
Ngah, It's such an embarrassment to all Malaccans...
We have so many more credible people deserving of the title!!
