Reading Chick-Lit

I've been seriously neglecting my Blog and my Scrabble games in FB due to the fact that I've been reading books at every possible free time. All chick-lits at that! I haven't read these much fiction since my days in secondary school! Seriously..

The problem is this: once I start reading, I just get obsessive about finishing the book & neglect everything else. Unfortunately (or fortunately?), my eldest sista Kak Long has thousands of books in her library (I'm not exaggerating: she can open up a 2nd-hand bookstore) and she has been supplying books to Eda, Win & me. Before I knew it, I got sucked in :-0

I started with the 4 Twillight saga books (Eda's evil influence!) and since then, I've been reading non-stop. Just for fun, I made a list of all the books that I've read and was shocked to note that I've read a total of 23 books in the past 30 days!! Aiyoh! Must tone down la... My scrabble mates have already abandoned me for the past month (ok, ok.. my games were all neglected for weeks!). Before my friends (and family) start boycotting me and before Blogger close down this Blog due to neglect, I better phase out this new hobby! But Eda just passed me a few books by Judith McNaught and she swears that the books are good reads.. Sigh..

Anyway, I really recommend these authors to all ladies out there: Nora Roberts, Jennifer Crusie and Lisa Kleypas. You will cry and laugh at the same time! Enjoy reading gals (^_^)

Kak Dilla, I went thorugh a phase with chick-lit. Bought and read, bought n read. Jane Green, Jennifer Weiner, Marian Keyes, Cecilia Ahern, Adele Parks, Lauren Weisberger, Helen Feilding etc.. I have stopped! But once in a while I pick one up n read. But 24 in 30 days... hu hu... thats non-stop!

I love chick-lit too, but I normally borrow from the library. Of coz my best are the ones by Sophie Kinsella.
I will now go look for books by the authors that you listed (Twilight saga I dah khatam 2008 lagi) I am always confused when choosing books coz dont know which one to pick.
Have you tried Jude Deveraux? Hers are good too.

Hi Alang! :)

Well, I would like to share the list of my favourite authors:-

Cecilia Ahern - Where Rainbows End
Jodi Picoult - Nineteen Minutes
Sophie Kinsella - The Undomestic Goddess
Dorothy Koomson - The Chocolate Run and My Best Friend's Girl

Check them out! :D

P/S: Those in italics are my favourite. But the authors in general are awesome! And I put in two for Dorothy Koomson cause I just can't choose one :)

PP/S: The Undomestic Goddess's main character, Samantha Sweeting, is a lawyer. I think you'll love this book :)

Hiya all! Glad that I'm not the only gal reading all these chick-lit! Anyway, in answer to all:-

Shikin - you MUST read Nora Roberts' Bride Quartet. Only 2 of them are published so far: "Visions in White" & "Bed of Roses". They are both sweet & funny!

Amy - I have a couple of books by Cecelia Ahern from Kak Long's collection. One of which is "PS I Love You". haven't read it yet because I've been informed that I need a WHOLE box of tissues when I'm reading it!

Kak Shaz - Yes, I've read a few books by Sophie Kinsella too. Very funny! I have not read Jude Deveraux tho. Will ask Kak Long whether she has any in her collection. BTW, my Kak Long is Marlin TKC76-81. You may have known her?

Raha - I'm now reading Judith McNaught's "Paradise" & it's REALLY good! Which books by her do you recommend?

Anyway, will ask Mak Long whether she has Dorothy Koomson & Jodi Picoult in her collection. You should look at Mak Long's library!!
